Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information The Kiely Group collects through this website, why we collect it, and who it is shared with. We have tried to write it plainly rather than in legal language.

What we collect

When you complete the enquiry form we collect the details you provide: your name, phone number, email address, the address and suburb of the project, what you are planning, your timeline, your budget range, what stage you are at, and anything else you tell us.

If you use the chat assistant, we collect the messages you send and any contact details you give it.

Our host also records standard technical information for every visit, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

We do not ask for, and would rather you did not send, sensitive information such as health, financial account or identity document details.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, work out whether we are the right builder for your project, prepare estimates and proposals, and communicate with you while a project is running.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

The chat assistant

The assistant on this site is software, not a member of our team. Its replies are generated automatically. It is there to answer common questions and pass your details to us — it cannot quote, agree to anything, or commit us to a price.

To produce a reply, the messages in your conversation are sent to Anthropic, which operates the language model behind it. Conversations are stored so we can pick up where you left off and so a real person can follow up.

If you would rather not use it, the enquiry form, phone and email all reach the same people.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is being used — how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us. It is how we work out whether the site is doing its job.

To do that it stores a small file (a cookie) in your browser containing a randomly generated number, so that a second visit can be recognised as the same browser. It does not tell us your name or who you are.

Google’s advertising features are switched off. Your visit is not used to build advertising audiences, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other websites.

  • What is sent: the pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are (city level, from your IP address), what kind of device and browser you used, and which website or search brought you here.
  • If you submit the enquiry form, we also send the multiple-choice answers only — what you are planning, the type of property, the budget range, the stage you are at, how you heard about us, your preferred contact method, and what you value in a builder.
  • What is never sent: your name, phone number, email address, the project address or suburb, and anything you wrote in your own words. Those go to us, and no further.

If you would rather not be counted, you can block cookies in your browser settings, install Google’s official opt-out add-on, or simply add ?notrack=1 to the end of any address on this site — that switches analytics off in your browser for good, with no add-on and no account.

Aside from analytics, this site sets no cookies of its own. The video on our project pages loads nothing from YouTube until you press play.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the services needed to run this website and respond to you:

  • Affio — builds and manages this website, and operates the inbox your enquiry arrives in.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the site and stores chat conversations.
  • Anthropic — generates the chat assistant’s replies.
  • Resend — delivers enquiry notification emails to us.
  • Microsoft — provides our email.
  • Google — provides the analytics described above, and supplies the typefaces this site is set in (which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads).

Several of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. By sending us an enquiry you consent to that transfer. We choose established providers, but we cannot control overseas laws that may apply to them.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and conversations are kept while we are in contact with you and for as long as we may reasonably need them afterwards — for example, records relating to a project we built for you. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@thekielygroup.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection and enquiries are transmitted securely. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every risk.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first at info@thekielygroup.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear rather than slipped in quietly.

Enquire

Let’s talk about your home.

The more you can tell us, the more useful our first conversation will be. James personally reads every enquiry.

We take on a limited number of projects each year, so the more detail you can give us, the faster we can tell you whether we are the right fit.
