The Kiely Group is a boutique renovation builder working in Hampton. We have completed three projects in the suburb — a whole-home renovation with a new pool house, two bathrooms in a family home, and an architecturally designed home.
Hampton houses have usually been renovated before
The streets between Hampton Street and the beach are mostly interwar brick and weatherboard — houses built for a different way of living, and extended at least once since. That history is what makes them worth keeping and what makes them unpredictable to work on. The rear addition from the eighties is rarely built the way the drawings claim, and the levels between old and new almost never line up neatly.
On the whole-home renovation that meant establishing what was actually there before committing to a plan — then reworking the kitchen, laundry and three bathrooms, and building a new pool house in the garden. It is the kind of project where the planning stage earns its keep several times over.
