The Kiely Group is a boutique building company working across Bayside Melbourne. We specialise in high-end, architecturally designed renovations — and we take on a deliberately limited number of projects each year.
That is not a marketing position. It is the only way James can personally oversee every build, which is what clients are actually buying when they choose a builder our size. You will not be handed to a project manager you have never met.
We are at our best where the work is complex and the detail matters: a house that needs rethinking rather than refreshing, an architect's drawing that needs a builder's read, a budget that needs to survive contact with reality.

Why we stay small
It would not be difficult to take on more work. The constraint is not demand — it is that the thing clients value most about us disappears the moment we grow past it. A builder running fifteen projects cannot personally know what is happening on any of them, and the honest ones will tell you so.
So we take on a small number of renovations each year and accept the trade: fewer projects, chosen carefully, done properly. It also means we occasionally say no to work we could do — usually because it is not the right fit, and once in a while because the budget and the ambition are not yet in the same room.
Where we work
We work across Bayside Melbourne — Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, Black Rock, Beaumaris, Mentone, Mount Eliza and Mount Martha — and along the coast between them. We have completed projects in Hampton and Brighton, and further afield in Murrumbeena and Aspendale.
Staying inside that radius is deliberate. It keeps James on site rather than in the car, and it means the trades we use are the ones who already know these streets, these houses and how we like things done.
How to start a conversation
Send us what you have — drawings if you have them, a sketch and a rough budget if you do not. James personally reviews every enquiry and will come back to you by phone or email. If we are not the right builder for the project we will say so early, and point you somewhere sensible.
